Countdown

I never thought I'd say this, but what a wonderful time to be in Ethiopia!

The transformation in the spirit of the people over the past few days is incredible. Everyone is talking about their coming release and newpapers are printing their photos again (I wish I could scan and attach Tuesday's copy of "Abbi Weekly", featuring Dr. Berhanu flashing the double V sign and the faces of the other leaders on a background of the national colors but, of course, these sold out by noon in the city).

What a joy to overhear political discussions in the streets of Addis!

Mengedegna!
I can feel the excitement of Addis at gathering spots of Ethiopians in Washington DC,occupied territory of CUD.It feels like May '97 all over again. All the DRAMA that is unfolding is affirming the fact that we are dealing with a bunch of shameless liers.I can't wait till I see them in flesh.
Always appreciative of what you're doing!THANKS
La lutta continua!

The release of our Leaders is of great joy to all of us. Yet the struggle for democracy will continue and your voice will still be needed.

Just the other day you were saying the Opposition never signed a document and it was fabricated. Liar.

Who shoukd be thanked? God Plus Ana Gomez ( the special Woman who fought the Woyanes till the end) and all who contributed to the realease of our leaders. The spirit of Kinijit is back in all of us and we will continue to struggle against antidemocratic rulers in our country.

melese has sayed that there is no negotiotion b/n CUD and himself, now the "shimagiles" are giving interview in VOA.
Melese lays as ususal. He must resign soon. You can not rule the people who don't like you.

The next good news will be, when melese says:
I give the power to the party who won.

Ethiopia people must be alerted for the coming action.

" Bygone is bygone". Now is time to wake up from a dream and face the real EPRDF. EPRDF is evil in many respects but CUD is not saint if not evil too. Examples that CUD is not evil includes Lidetu. We always have to be aware peoples like Lidetu who switch sides at a trying times. Now the CUD is well tested with fire, it must come as true opossition.

Our dear friend Mengedegana,

We thank you for all the good work and We are proud of you. Ethiopia is very lucky to have a very dedicated, honest friend, who stood unwaveringly with the people of Ethiopia. We are very delighted to have a friend like you.

I concur with your admirer!! People like you make a difference. My heartfelt appreciation for your dedicated effort. We need to make a noise on how foreign aid is distributed. It seems like the tribalist leader. prime misery of Ethiopia, is allocating a JIANT lion share to his homeland. I just came from Addis. There is no gov't initiative to build infrascture, let alone improve!! What a pity!1 The parking meter are out of order!! Education is a business for the rest of EThiopia, and it's a gov't issue for homeland Tigray!!

Your Fan!!

The countdown has come and gone. What is lingering is the after taste of a bad deal. What an anticlimax.

In spite of the denials, recriminations and counterrecriminations, the leaders got themselves were handed the crap end of the stick. And, we all got the poke in the nose.

Now, about this eccentric, almost comical professor:

A self-aggrandizing relic of the feudal years, a sentimental prude and shockingly uninformed, this linguist who couldn't even master his own language (let alone make sense with it), tells us that it displeases him "dess ailegnem" if the bill HR2003 is going to enslave his people. What a crock. I would say, Professor, go back to Harvard to the behind-the-back sniggers of your more descerning pupils.
